Say something
worth reading.

We read everything. We reply to what matters.

If you're pitching, be specific. If you're correcting, be specific too. If you're just saying hi, that's allowed.

Where to write

Three doors. Pick one.

Each door goes to a different inbox. Picking the right one means a faster reply — and a better one.

Work with us.

Tourism boards, boutique hotels, local operators, brands with something real to say.

We don't say yes to everyone. We don't say no for the wrong reasons either. If your offer fits the editorial line, we want to hear it. If it doesn't — well, we have a whole page explaining that. Read it before you pitch.

Something wrong?

Send proof. We'd rather fix it than defend it.

A wrong fact, a misspelled name, a bus that no longer leaves at 7. If we got it wrong, we want to know — and we want a source. Corrections jump the queue. Always.

Everything else.

Restaurants we missed. Places we got wrong. Routes worth trying.

This is the door for everything that isn't a pitch and isn't a correction. Tell us what we should cover, what we got close but not quite right, or just send a recommendation. We read all of them. We don't always reply — but we always read.

Or — and we say this with love — your answer might already be downstairs.

Before you write

Most of this is already answered.

Most messages we receive can be answered by the FAQ on each country page or in our planning section. Save us both some time:

How many days do I need in [country]? +

It's on the country page. We thought of you when we wrote the "How long" section.

Is [country] safe? +

Read The Balkans FAQ. Short version: probably more than the news suggested.

Can you plan my trip? +

Not now — soon. We're building it. In the meantime, our itineraries are detailed enough to almost qualify. Start there.

Do you accept guest posts? +

No. Not if you're a fan. Not if it's free. Not if it's well written. Just no.

Want to interview us? +

Yes — write to press@visitingthebalkans.com. Tell us where it's going and what angle you're chasing. Coffee in person if you're in the region.

Anything else, send us an email.

Send a message

Or write here. Same inbox.

Pick a topic from the dropdown — we'll point you in the right direction as you fill it out.

For partnerships, we have a whole page that explains what we do and don't accept — read it first. Saves us both a round of email.
Include a source if you have one. We'd rather fix it than defend it — but evidence makes the fix faster.
Press queries go faster through press@visitingthebalkans.com. Different inbox, different reply speed.
Hi. In the Balkans, we'd offer you rakija before asking what you want. Consider this the digital equivalent.
Hi. These are our favourite emails to receive, and the ones we're worst at replying to. We promise to try.

Most replies within five working days. If we don't reply, blame the spam filter — and try again. We've lost good emails to it before.

What we don't do

We're polite, but no.

FILTERED

Some emails go straight to the filter. Save us both the typing.

  • 01 Generic guest post offers — even the well-written ones.
  • 02 "Boost your SEO" emails. We boost ours by writing things people read.
  • 03 Crypto. Blockchain. Web3. Anything that needs a whitepaper to explain itself.
  • 04 AI-written outreach. We can tell. Everyone can tell.
  • 05 Requests to remove valid criticism. The article stays.
  • 06 Affiliate scheme proposals from companies we couldn't find on the first page of Google.
Press & Media

For press inquiries.

Travel pieces. Podcasts. Panels. Conferences. We're game for most things — if there's a real conversation in it.

Available for

Interviews, media features, panels, podcasts.
